After completing this course, the trainee will be able to:
- Identify the connection between superficial systems (skin, nervous, fascia, circulatory) and body organ systems (e.g., larynx, lungs, digestion), and their role in speech and swallowing.
- Understand basic diagnostic measurements, including biomarker and musculoskeletal data, for pre/post assessment.
- Create a treatment plan using diagnostic data with neuromodulation therapies and elastic therapeutic tape to improve speech-related factors like jaw alignment, oral motor function, swallowing, breathing, digestion, sensory regulation, and arthrokinematics.
- Recognize precautions and contraindications for elastic therapeutic tape in patient care.
- Apply neuromuscular elastic therapeutic tape for speech, feeding, and swallowing disorders.
