Play-Based Speech Therapy: A Practical Framework For Developing Communication and Language Through Play - Online
About Course:
This online training course focuses on the theoretical and clinical foundations of children’s communication development and pre-linguistic skills, with an emphasis on goal-driven intervention using play-based materials when delays are identified. Participants will examine types of play and their relevance to assessment, and apply structured observational methods to inform informal assessment of communication skills. The course introduces evidence-based language and interaction strategies to support communication development, supported by case-based learning to facilitate clinical reasoning, goal formulation, and effective family coaching within speech and language therapy practice.

Ms. Noura Sabha

Noura Sabha is a highly experienced Speech and Language Pathologist with over 17 years of clinical expertise in pediatric communication disorders. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Speech and Hearing Sciences from the University of Jordan (2007) and has extensive experience working across Jordan and the United Arab Emirates in clinics, special education centers, nurseries, and private practice. Noura specializes in the assessment and intervention of hearing loss, stuttering, language delay, articulation and phonological disorders, and childhood apraxia of speech. She is a certified practitioner of several internationally recognized programs, including the Canadian HANEN programs (It Takes Two to Talk®, More Than Words®, and Learning Language and Loving It®), and has completed advanced training in ADOS-2. As the Founder and CEO of KALIMAT Company, she is passionate about developing culturally relevant Arabic therapy materials and evidence-based resources that empower parents and educators to support children’s communication development. Noura combines clinical excellence, leadership, and a family-centered approach, enriched by both her professional background and her experience as a mother of three.
